The NHS is turning 70 this year and what better way to celebrate one of the nation’s most loved institutions than with a cup of tea!
Over the last 70 years the NHS has transformed the health and well-being of the nation. And helping behind the scenes are more than 250 dedicated NHS charities. Whether supporting research and development, brightening up hospital environments, providing state-of-the-art technologies and equipment or supporting staff, they help the NHS to go above and beyond.
How can I help?
We would love you to help us celebrate this fantastic milestone here in Barnsley by organising a tea party and raise vital funds for Barnsley Hospital Charity.
Whether it’s holding a small tea party with friends and family or thinking bigger by bringing your community together booking your village hall or organising a street party you can help us make a difference to patients and their families.
At work on the 5th July? Why not rally your colleagues to have a get together over a brew and hold a bake sale to help raise money, it’s not a birthday with out cake and buns!
Can I celebrate in other ways?
If tea parties aren’t your thing, consider doing something different to get involved in the 70th anniversary celebrations, you could walk or run 70miles over the course of the month, take a weekend 70km bike ride or swim 70 lengths of your local pool and ask friends and family to sponsor you. Why not set your self a £70 target? Don’t forget if you raise more than £100 you are entitled to a Free Barnsley Hospital Charity T-Shirt or Vest!
